Men of Another Sort

At Church of Hope we recognize that God has uniqually created men and women in His image to glorify Him in their unique God-given roles. We also know that our culture is fighting against God’s design. Therefore we want to be “Men of Another Sort” in the sense that we want to embrace the biblical definition and calling of manhood. We are called to lead in our homes, churches, and communities. In order to do that effectively, we must be men of the Word and prayer humbly on our knees.

Bible Study

On Wednesday mornings at 6 am at the Elk River Panera, there is a Bible study where the men go through whole books of the Bible verse by verse. This is a great opportunity for men to grow in the Word together, pray together, and challenge each other.

During the school year, the men meet on Wednesday nights at Spectrum High School at 6 pm to go through the Word together. This again, is a great opportunity for iron to sharpen iron and grow in Biblical Community. That time is followed by a time of Praise and Prayer with men, women, youth, and children all together.

Events

Once each year on a Saturday, all the men’s birthdays are celebrated at Fogo De Chao in the afternoon with some other community building activities in the morning.

From the end of April through the end of October (weather permitting) Church of Hope men go mountian biking together every other Saturday morning @ Hillside in Elk River.

We have an annual Men’s Retreat in Crosby, MN the last weekend in September. It is a weekend of camping (tent, camper or hammock), getting into the Word, prayer, worship, fellowship, eating, mountian biking, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, golfing, and more. This weekend has proven to be life-changing as the Lord works in hearts as only He can.
